D'Août 1911 à Janvier 1912 Fiebig parcourut l'Italie à pied. Ce voyage le conduisit de Lugano à Capri en passant par Gênes, Pise, Florence, Rome et Naples. Sa seule "compagne de route" était une charette qui contenait son bagage et, ce qui pour lui était le plus précieux, son matériel de peinture. Il voulait durant ce voyage se remettre de sa vie à Paris qui le rendait malade; il aspirait à un "contact solitaire avec la nature".
Les tableaux issus de ce périple connurent un vif succès. La plupart a fait l'objet d'une expostion personnelle chez Bernheim Jeune.
From August 1911 to January 1912 Fiebig travelled though Italy on foot. This journey led him from Lugano to Capri, passing though Genoa, Pisa, Florence, Rome and Naples on his way. His only "road companion" was a small cart that carried his bags and, what was most precious for him, his painting material. During this journey he wished to recover from his life in Paris that had made him ill; he hoped to have "solitary contact with nature".|
The paintings that were the result of this journey immediately met with success. Most of them were the subject of a personal exhibition in the Bernheim Jeune gallery.
